The eyes certainly have it when it comes to arresting an audience. Whether it's the bold, yet idle, idle, yet bold stare of grazing cattle, the shining luminescence of a cat's gaze, the rich hues of a peacock's plumage, or the expressive wells of a child's emotions.
I love the way the softened focus here manages to bring the bold colour differences in this photograph together. Softening the focus keeps the cat's eyes as the real subject of the image.
